Legal Services Commission Contract

South East Staffordshire CAB has a contract with the Legal Services Commission to provide advice and assistance on debt and welfare benefits issues, to clients who are eligible for legal aid.

Our LSC Caseworker delivers this help to solicitor standard and assists over 200 clients each year, many with multiple debt problems. We contact and negotiate with creditors to reduce their monthly repayments to levels that the client can afford, while assisting with welfare benefits claims to maximise their incomes.

Clients are referred to our LSC Caseworker after making contact with our advice services.


Money Advice Service

Funded by Staffordshire County Council

Staffordshire County Council funds a Money Advice Service across the whole of the county, with each Citizens Advice Bureau service in Staffordshire funding a specialist caseworker who can help clients who have debt problems. The caseworker can contact and negotiate with creditors on behalf of clients, to re-schedule their debts to more manageable levels.

Clients are referred to our Debt Caseworker after making contact with our advice services.
